Struggling to stay awake when the world is asleep? Consider joining a shift work disorder (SWD) research study.

Eligibility:

  • Ages 18 - 65 years old
  • Currently experiencing symptoms of Shift Work Disorder (SWD) such as excessive sleepiness and/or insomnia
  • Night shift workers with the following schedule:
    • Works at least 5-night shifts per month, with at least shifts being consecutive each month
    • Night shifts must last at least 6 hours between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am, but no longer than 12 hours

Narcolepsy Study

If you are experiencing excessive daytime sleepiness due to narcolepsy, consider participating in this study.

Eligibility:

  • Be 18-70 years of age
  • Experience excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Have a primary diagnosis of NT2
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 40 kg/m2
  • Not having symptoms of narcolepsy due to another medical condition
  • Not having untreated uncontrolled sleep apnea

This study is a research study testing the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug, called tasipimidine, to see if it will help treat insomnia (sleeplessness) and how safe it is to use.

You may be eligible to participate in the UNITAS Study if:
• You are 18 to 65 years of age
• You have been diagnosed with insomnia disorder
• It takes you 30 minutes or more to fall asleep, or you are sleeping for 6 hours or less at least 3 nights a week for the past 3 months
• You spend 6 to 9 hours in bed each night

  • You must be at least 18 years old and meet the DSM-5 criteria for a diagnosis of MDD.
  • You are currently experiencing a major depressive episode of at least 60 days.
  • You must be willing to stop taking all current depression medications during the study.
  • You have not been diagnosed with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.

Insomnia in Adolescents Aged 10-17

If your child is at least 10 and under the age of 18 and struggling with insomnia, this study could be for you. An experienced team of researchers is evaluating a medication called Daridorexant, already proven effective and safe in adults, to understand its potential benefits and safety in the younger population.

Eligibility:

  • Your child is between 10 and 17 years old.
  • Your child struggles with falling asleep and/or staying asleep.
  • Chronic insomnia disorder (problems falling asleep, waking up multiple times during the night, early morning awakenings)
  • Sleep disturbances have been present for at least 3 months.
  • Sleep disturbances occur at least three nights per week.
  • Your child does not take naps longer than 1 hour on 3 weekdays per week during the three months before prescreening.
  • Sleep problems persist despite adequate time and opportunity for sleep.
  • Sleep problems impact daily performance

Pediatric Migraines (Kaleidoscope)

Does your child experience the pain and disability of migraine?

To pre-qualify for this study, your child must:
• Be 6 to 17 years of age and have migraines
• Have 4 to 14 migraine attacks per month with moderate to severe headaches
• Be currently taking or have taken at least 1 oral medication (examples include ibuprofen, Tylenol®, aspirin, Excedrin®, or a prescription medication) for the treatment of a migraine attack.

Additional criteria will be assessed by the study doctor. All study-related visits, tests, and drugs will be provided at no cost. Reimbursement for study-related travel may also be provided.
